CHICAGO, IL (MAY 20, 2010) Sierra U.S. today announced the opening of a new regional brokerage office in Baltimore, Maryland, to serve the mid-Atlantic region from Northern Virginia through Delaware.

“Our new office will be well positioned to meet the needs of existing and new clients in the region,” said Sierra U.S. CEO Marc Offit. “We have been successful in building strong relationships with key real estate leaders in Illinois and in Florida, and this expansion will provide new opportunities for Sierra to serve clients on the east coast.”

The opening of this office also serves as a homecoming for the CEO who grew up in Maryland and attended The Johns Hopkins University and the University of Baltimore’s School of Law.

“I am very excited to bring Sierra back to my home town where former colleagues and friends will prove invaluable for the launch of our company in the region,” said Offit. “We also have many existing clients who have expressed a desire to expand into the DC and Northern Virginia markets with our assistance. As a result, this office will hit the ground running.”

Sierra’s mid-Atlantic office will be headed by Mark Mueller who has been actively involved in retail real estate since 1981. Through 1995, he was employed by the J. Gordon Mueller Company in Towson, Maryland, where he served as president from 1983-1995. He joined KLNB in 1996 as an associate, continuing to specialize in leasing, sales, and tenant representation throughout the Baltimore and Washington metropolitan areas. His current clients include many local developers as well as retailers and restaurateurs including CVS, Advance Auto and Texas Roadhouse.

“I was drawn to the opportunity to join a national platform and build an office from the ground up,” said Mueller. “The Sierra culture of personalized service for property owners and tenants is a good fit for me. I am excited to help expand the brand and also recruit talented brokers to fill out our needs for the region.”

Also joining Sierra mid-Atlantic as a principal is Ashley Schneeman. Ashley started in the industry at H & R Retail in 2003 where she specialized in tenant representation from big box to small specialty retailers as well as new construction pre-leasing. Most recently she was Director of Leasing at DLC Management Corp. for the mid-Atlantic region which encompassed 23 shopping centers.

The Baltimore office is the third office for Sierra U.S. joining the headquarters in Chicago and a regional office in Boca Raton, Florida. “Opening a mid-Atlantic office is part of our growth strategy of creating a national platform,” said Offit. “We now have a presence in multiple markets, and we are proactively looking to continue the expansion.”
